Ubersuggest free: what the free plan lets you do, and where it stops
Ubersuggest free, the short answer: yes, there's a free account with no time limit, but it gives you 3 searches or reports a day, 1 project and 25 tracked keywords. Add a free Chrome extension with 40 searches a day and an MCP server that works in Claude or ChatGPT with that same free account. Past that, paid plans start at $29 a month.
This page is part of the guide: Ubersuggest alternatives
Is Ubersuggest free? Yes, within a daily limit
I’m Jérémy Santos. I haven’t used a paid Ubersuggest plan: this guide comes from its official pages and help articles, each dated. The one tool I tested on a real account for this site is SemChat, on 29 October 2026. SemChat links here are affiliate links; Ubersuggest links are plain, since its affiliate programme “isn’t active” (help, 5 May 2026).
Now the answer. Ubersuggest has a free account with “no time limit”. Its help article “Free Account: Key Features and Limits”, last updated 26 July 2025, gives the free plan:
- 3 searches or reports per day;
- 1 project, with 25 tracked keywords;
- a site audit of 150 pages per week;
- 100 backlinks per site;
- an AI writer limited to 2,000 words and 5 searches a day.
That’s a real free plan, not a trial. It’s also a small one. Three searches go fast: one keyword, one competitor, one look at your own site, and you’re done until tomorrow.
One caution on freshness. That help article dates from July 2025, and the help center answered 403 when I tried to reread it on 30 October 2026. The limits may have changed since.
Why Ubersuggest offers a free plan
Ubersuggest doesn’t spell out its reasons on the pages I read. What the pages do show is where the free account leads.
The English pricing page opens a box that reads “Create a FREE account and get:”, followed by “More keyword suggestions”, “Weekly rank tracking” and “Personalised SEO suggestions” (screenshot of 30 October 2026). The home page puts a “Search free” button next to its search box and a “Start 7-day free trial” button in the menu.
So the free account is a front door. You use it, you hit the daily limit, and the paid plans are one click away. Nothing wrong with that, as long as you know where the limit sits.
Ubersuggest free version: what the free account includes
Here’s the full list from the help article (updated 26 July 2025):

Creating a free Ubersuggest account
The pricing page shows a “Create Free Account” button in that box, and the home page lets you search before you sign up. Ubersuggest’s terms reserve the services to people aged 16 and over (terms updated 20 May 2024).
Does the free account ask for a card? The pages I read don’t say so. The card comes in with the 7-day trial of a paid plan, which the home page FAQ says needs one. Data missing: whether sign-up for the free account asks for a card (planned source: creating a free account from the United States).
Once you’re in, connect Google Search Console if you have it. Ubersuggest’s pricing FAQ explains that the connection lets it access your Search Console account, and the help describes connecting Google Analytics by project.
Daily searches, one project and a weekly site audit
The daily count is the rule you’ll feel most. Three searches or reports a day, shared across the tools. The help treats “searches” and “reports” as the same unit.
Then comes the project. One project means one website, with 25 tracked keywords. They update weekly, on desktop only. If you want to know where your page sits on mobile, that’s a paid feature.
The site audit crawls 150 pages a week. No recrawl: you wait for next week’s run. Exports are in CSV only. For a small business site with fewer than 150 pages, that’s enough to find broken links, missing titles and slow pages once a week.
Free keyword research and the traffic checker
The home page puts a search box at the top: “Enter a website or keyword”, with a “Search free” button.

Ubersuggest’s home page and its free keyword search box. Screenshot of https://ubersuggest.com/en, taken on 30 October 2026.
Type a keyword and you get volume, difficulty, CPC and intent, with ideas around it: autocomplete, related terms, questions, prepositions, comparisons. Type a domain and you get estimated organic and paid traffic, keywords by traffic and top pages. Each lookup counts against your 3 a day.
Where the numbers come from: Ubersuggest’s help says it “efficiently gathers data from Google’s API, with updates occurring monthly” (22 August 2025). Monthly means a page that jumped last week won’t show it yet.
The SEO Analyzer on a free account
Ubersuggest’s site audit checks titles, meta descriptions, H1 tags, thin content, broken links, speed, sitemap and SSL (site audit page, read in French on 29 October 2026). On a free account, that runs on 150 pages a week.
One thing to know before you try it signed out. The site audit page showed a banner saying, in its French version, that you’re using the free version of Ubersuggest “avec 1 recherche”, with 1 search. Signed in, the help article gives 3 a day. Sign in before you audit.
The free Ubersuggest Chrome extension
The extension is free and works without an Ubersuggest plan. Its help gives the daily limits: 40 searches without signing in or on a free account, then 100 on Individual, 300 on Business and 900 on Enterprise (help, 10 July 2024). There’s no project management inside the extension.
Its Chrome Web Store listing showed 600,000 users when read on 29 October 2026. On 30 October, the store page wouldn’t load without a consent screen, and ubersuggest.com/en/chrome-extension returned a 404. That’s why there’s no screenshot of it here.
Using the Ubersuggest extension on Google, YouTube and Amazon
Install it from the Chrome Web Store, then search as you normally do. According to its listing, it adds:
- keyword volume, CPC and competition on Google, YouTube and Amazon;
- traffic estimates under each search result;
- metrics on the domains you visit.
Forty searches a day on the extension is far more than three in the app. For quick checks while you browse, the extension is the most generous part of Ubersuggest’s free offer.
Ubersuggest in ChatGPT and Claude: MCP on a free account
This is the surprise of the free plan. Ubersuggest has an official MCP server, the standard that lets an AI assistant use a tool’s data. It counts 42 tools in 8 categories: domain analysis, keywords, backlinks, audit, AI visibility, content, projects and utilities (MCP page, read in French on 29 October 2026).

Ubersuggest’s MCP page, usable with a free account. Screenshot of https://ubersuggest.com/en/mcp, taken on 30 October 2026.
It works with Claude, Claude Code, Cursor, Codex, Windsurf and any MCP client. You sign in with OAuth: there’s no API key to paste. There’s also an official app inside ChatGPT, on the same 42 tools, and a Claude plugin with 9 skills, including keyword research, a site audit and an SEO action plan.
The key line, from the Claude page: a free account is enough for every tool. Your plan changes how much data comes back, not which tools run. Two conditions. Calls use the same daily searches and credits as the app, so your 3 a day still apply. And generating an article costs 100 credits and needs a paid plan.
In plain words: with a free Ubersuggest account and the AI assistant you already use, you can ask “what are the top keywords for my site?” in a chat. Three times a day.
Where the free Ubersuggest plan stops
AI Chat and article generation: sold with the paid plans
Ubersuggest has its own chat inside the app. Its page says: “Stop Clicking Through Reports. Just Ask.”, with “37+ SEO tools behind it”, and a fair warning: “AI responses can be inaccurate. Verify numbers before acting on them.”

The page of Ubersuggest’s AI Chat, listed with the paid plans. Screenshot of https://ubersuggest.com/en/ai-chat-landing, taken on 30 October 2026.
On the pricing page, AI Chat is ticked for Individual, Business and Enterprise/Agency. Whether the free account gets it isn’t stated on the pages I read, and the AI Chat page says rollout to all users is still in progress. Article generation is clearer: it’s reserved for paid plans, at 100 credits per article.
The Ubersuggest free trial: a card, then an automatic charge
If you want to see the paid plans without paying, there’s a “7-day free trial” on monthly plans (pricing.md, read 30 October 2026). The home page FAQ says a bank card is needed to start.
Watch the end date. If you don’t cancel before day 7, the subscription starts and the first month is charged. After that, “Fees are non-refundable” (refund policy, 15 February 2026), except the 14-day right EU customers keep under the terms. The trial is once per account or payment method, and there’s none on yearly or lifetime plans.
My advice: set a reminder for day 6 the minute you start.
Getting the most from Ubersuggest for free
Three searches a day is tight. Here’s how to stretch them, using only what Ubersuggest documents:
- Do quick checks in the extension. It has 40 searches a day of its own on a free account.
- Spend app searches on what the extension can’t do. A domain overview, a keyword idea list, your own project.
- Let the weekly audit work for you. It runs on 150 pages a week; read it once a week and fix the top three issues.
- Track only your 25 best keywords. Pick the ones that bring customers, not the biggest volumes.
- Ask through Claude or ChatGPT when you need explanations. The MCP server works with a free account. It shares your daily quota, but one well-phrased question can return more than one report.
- Connect Search Console. Your own clicks and positions are the most reliable data you’ll have, and they come from Google directly.
Keep your 3 keyword lists of 30 for your real topics. And export the audit’s CSV each week if you want a history.
When a paid Ubersuggest plan makes sense
Move up when the limit costs you more than the plan. Signs: you run out of searches before noon, you need a second site, or you want mobile rankings.
Ubersuggest’s plain-text price file says “prices below are in US Dollars (USD)”: Individual is $29 a month or $192 a year, Business $49 or $326, Enterprise/Agency $99 or $657 (pricing.md, read 30 October 2026). The same file says prices are localised by region; from France, the live page showed those numbers in euros. Data missing: the price a US visitor sees on the live page (planned source: ubersuggest.com/en/pricing reread from the United States before publication).
Individual moves you from 3 to 150 searches a day and from 25 to 125 tracked keywords, still for one website. There’s also a lifetime option from $290. All of it, with the yearly maths and the catches of lifetime, is on our Ubersuggest pricing page.
Other free keyword research tools besides Ubersuggest
Semrush Free and Ahrefs Free next to Ubersuggest
Semrush Free has its own daily count: “No credit card required”, “1 demo project”, “10 reports per day across all vital tools” (semrush.com/pricing/seo-ai-search/, read 30 October 2026). That’s more reports a day than Ubersuggest’s 3. Details on our Semrush free page.
Ahrefs Free works differently. It covers your own verified sites: Site Explorer, Site Audit and Web Analytics, with no card and no end date. Its FAQ is direct about the limit: “you can’t research competitors’ sites without paying” (fact sheet of 29 October 2026). Ahrefs also has free tools with no account, such as a Keyword Generator showing the first 100 ideas.
So the three free plans don’t overlap much. Ubersuggest: a few lookups a day on any site. Semrush: more lookups, one demo project. Ahrefs: deep data on your own site only. Paid suites and chat assistants are compared on our Ubersuggest alternatives page.
| Free plan | Daily lookups | Your own site | Competitors |
|---|---|---|---|
| Ubersuggest Free | 3 searches or reports | 1 project | yes, within the 3 |
| Semrush Free | 10 reports | 1 demo project | yes, within the 10 |
| Ahrefs Free | not counted that way | verified sites | “you can’t research competitors’ sites without paying” |

SemChat’s Free plan next to Ubersuggest’s
SemChat Free: chat included, and what one full audit uses
SemChat counts differently again. Its pricing page: “Every feature, in every plan. Just pick your monthly usage.” The Free plan is €0: “Try semchat with no credit card” (semchat.io/en/pricing, read 30 October 2026). Then Starter at €20 a month, Pro 5x at €100 and Pro 20x at €200, excluding tax.
So on Free, you get the chat, the audit, keyword research, the 17 skills. The limit is a monthly usage quota in tokens, and SemChat doesn’t publish what it buys.
I measured it. On 29 October 2026, I typed one sentence in French asking for an SEO audit of my site and a plan by priority. About 3 minutes later I had 8 KPIs, a 5-point diagnosis and 3 actions for the week. And then this:

The Usage screen after the audit: the Free plan quota is used up (French interface). Screenshot of the SemChat app (my account, Free plan), 29 October 2026.
One audit used 100% of the month’s Free quota: SEO tools 28.9%, documents 39.2%, site analysis 32%. It resets monthly.
Put side by side: Ubersuggest Free gives you small daily portions with no end date. SemChat Free gives you one big meal a month, with a conversation and a plan at the end.
If you sign up through my link and subscribe within 2 weeks, you get 10% off for life, with no code to type (e-mail of 29 October 2026 from ARCHI301, SemChat’s publisher, which also publishes Haloscan; SemChat uses Haloscan’s data in France).
Read the SemChat review and pricing
My full test, what SemChat got right and what it got wrong, is in the SemChat review. Plan by plan, with the tax detail, it’s on the SemChat pricing page.
And if you want both tools face to face, feature by feature, read Ubersuggest vs SemChat.
The bottom line on Ubersuggest free: it’s a real free plan with no end date, a generous extension and an MCP server you can use from Claude or ChatGPT. Three searches a day is its ceiling. If you’d rather spend your free allowance on one complete answer, try SemChat’s Free plan on the same site.
Frequently asked questions
Is Ubersuggest free to use?
Yes, up to a point. The free account has “no time limit” but allows 3 searches or reports a day, 1 project, 25 tracked keywords updated weekly and a 150-page site audit per week (help article updated 26 July 2025). The Chrome extension is free too, with 40 searches a day.
What is the monthly cost of Ubersuggest?
Ubersuggest's US-dollar price list shows $29 a month for Individual, $49 for Business and $99 for Enterprise/Agency, or $192, $326 and $657 a year (ubersuggest.com/pricing.md, read 30 October 2026). Prices are localised by region: from France, the same numbers showed in euros.
Is Ubersuggest worth it on the free plan?
For a quick check a day, yes: a keyword idea, a look at a competitor, a weekly audit of a small site. For real keyword research, 3 searches a day runs out fast. Try it for a week: if the limit stops you every morning, the free plan isn't enough for you.
What is the best free SEO tool?
It depends on the job. For your own site's Google data, Google Search Console. For a few keyword lookups a day, Ubersuggest Free or Semrush Free (10 reports a day). To audit your own verified site, Ahrefs Free. To ask in plain language and get an action plan, SemChat Free, keeping in mind that one full audit used its whole monthly quota in my test.
Is Ubersuggest's keyword planner free?
Ubersuggest's keyword research is part of the free account, within the 3 searches or reports a day. Its AI writer is limited to 2,000 words and 5 searches a day on free (help article updated 26 July 2025). Google's own Keyword Planner is a different tool, inside Google Ads, and Google's help says it asks for billing information before its basic features.
